Garden events and Coronavirus:
We have all been looking forward to getting out into gardens this year as part of our 2020 Programme, now severely affected by Covid -19. With the health and wellbeing of all our members uppermost in our minds we have had to cancel the April - August visits.
The September visit to Crockmore House has now been cancelled (9 September) due to revised Government Regulations & Guidelines.
Crockmore House, Henley - Gardens Tour
Thursday, 17th September
Our only garden visit this year will be to a modern garden designed in 1999 by Christopher Bradley-Hole and planted up in 2000 by Julia Kirkham, owner and a garden designer in her own right. Christopher Bradley-Hole is one of the world’s most influential landscape designers. Iconic designs, including gardens made at the Chelsea Flower Show (6 Gold medals) are described as “minimal, harmonious spaces, geometric, and pure proportions”. Set around a beautiful neo-Georgian house built in 1988 in the Chilterns, we will have a guided tour followed by a waitress-service tea on the lawn. The garden was most recently featured in The Private Gardens of England, edited by Tania Compton and published by Constable.
Time: 2pm. Tea will be served at tables after the tour.
