To identify, understand, appreciate, and promote the conservation of historically significant designed landscapes in Berkshire...

"enjoying and caring for our garden heritage, now, and for future generations"

Welcome to the website of the Berkshire Gardens Trust (BGT). Founded in 2009, we are proud of the rich heritage of historic parks and gardens which we have here in the Royal County of Berkshire. We aim to identify, protect and promote this valuable heritage.

The Trust is a volunteer organisation which runs an annual programme of informed garden visits, talks, seminars and lectures. We also initiate projects in which members can participate, such as cataloguing the important gardens and parks in the County.

The Trustees are very pleased to announce that BGT is now a registered charity with the Charity Commission. To learn more, please click here

We have been involved in restoring and conserving important public gardens. There is much going on and plenty to do. I do hope that as you navigate around this site you will be able to join us as a member of Berkshire Gardens Trust and help where you can.  Do contact us if you would like to get involved.

Bettina Kirkham, Chair

Volunteer wanted to take minutes for the Berkshire Gardens Trust.

Do you have a little spare time once every two months to join our Committee meetings to take the minutes?  Meetings are held in Trustees homes and usually last 2.5 to 3 hours with time for refreshments. This would suit you if you live in, or near, the county of Berkshire and would like to know more about the objectives and running of the Berkshire Gardens Trust.

Up to now a member of the Trustees has undertaken this role, but someone new who is good with administration and record taking and would like to join our friendly and lively group would be a real asset.  If you are interested, we would love to talk to you.  Please contact Bettina Kirkham, our Chair, at
